Craft for Mind
Host a Crafternoon!

Mind are helping crafters around the country set up their own Crafternoons next month! It will be a creative mass-fundraising event that will take place on Saturday 1st December. Novice and experienced crafters alike are encouraged to host their own craft-making afternoon with friends, family or colleagues.

If you want to host a Crafternoon, or know someone who would, you’ll receive tips and templates from Mind’s fundraising team when you sign up. So far, the event has had over 650 hosts take part.

“We’re making it easy for those new to crafting to host an event by providing simple guides and templates,” says Karen Bolton, Head of Community and Events Fundraising at Mind. “It’s a great way for people to spend time together away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas, while doing something creative and ticking a few things off your festive to-do list!”

From Christmas cards and decorations to gift wrap and stocking fillers, all projects are welcome at a Crafternoon! Hosts are encouraged to provide materials for the chosen crafts and organise the venue – which can be anywhere from the kitchen table to a local café. Guests can offer a small donation for the creations they take away with them – with the money raised going to support Mind and all the brilliant work they do.

“Every penny raised will make a huge difference to the one in four of us who experience mental health problems,” says Karen. “Just £50 could answer six calls to the Mind Infoline which provides vital support when it is needed most.”
